Seneca College is actively seeking its inaugural Director, Talent Acquisition to join the growing Human Resources department. Reporting to the Vice-President, Human Resources, the Director, Talent Acquisition provides leadership and oversight in the development and execution of an overarching talent acquisition and onboarding strategy that embeds equity, diversity and inclusion that is aligned with Seneca’s strategic priorities. The Director, Talent Acquisition partners with the Director, Talent Management on the development of an integrated and inclusive talent management strategy.

The Director will create and implement a vision to build a talent acquisition team with national search capabilities and lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of best practices in recruitment and workforce planning to meet the current and future staffing needs of the College. As a proactively inclusive leader, the Director will provide leadership and advice to College management on such issues as how to attract, retain and engage employees, immigration policies, regulatory requirements and embedding principles of equity, diversity and inclusion in the recruitment process.

As the ideal candidate, you are strategic and innovative, with a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience in Talent Acquisition, including experience building a company’s employer brand. You have experience in full cycle recruitment from working in a similar role and have demonstrated experience in increasing the development and recruitment of those from equity-seeking groups. You constantly generate ideas about workflows, efficiency, and new opportunities in the context of the team’s goals, available resources and expertise. You have experience designing and implementing innovative sourcing strategies and experience developing an employee value proposition. You have an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify a wide range of audiences, stakeholders and opportunities for collaboration.

You have a Master’s degree in business with a specialization in Human Resources, or a related field. You can lead in the identification and development of best practices in candidate sourcing approaches, particularly for hard-to-find skill sets and targeted hires. Experience working in a unionized environment is a requirement for the role.
